Currently, we are not able to take payments through the client portal. However, payments can be made through Venmo (Jessica-Robichaud-1), Paypal or via cash/check in our drop box by the garage or by mail to The Capable Canine, 863 Alfred Rd. Arundel, ME 04046. If you are paying via cash/check be sure to include your name, contact info, dog’s name class name and start date. *We cannot accept payment on the first day of class. All payments must be received prior to attending class.
Class Cancellation & Refund Policy
Classes will occasionally be postponed due to holidays, illness or weather. If you are unable attend due to a postponement we will do our best to find another class for you to attend. If you wish to drop out of class we will refund you the full amount, if you inform us two weeks prior to the start of class. If you wish to drop out of class and you inform us one week prior to the start of class, we will refund your 50%. There are no refunds if you drop out of class with less than one weeks notice or after class has started.

Advanced Dog Training – This class will bring your dog’s training to a higher level. In this class, we will work on your dog’s emergency cues such as wait and stay with greater distance, duration and distractions. We will begin to add distances of up to 12 feet on all cues. Attention and heel work will be expanded upon and off-leash work using long lines will be introduced. We will work inside and outside. Each class will have the option of taking a field trip to another location to practice skills in another setting.

Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog Preparation $135
Price includes 5 classes, general training packet, homework packet and a clicker.
Length: 6 weeks Location: Arundel, ME
All dogs must have completed a beginner class, Int. 1, Int. 2 and possibly Advanced training.
This dog training class prepares students with four weeks of instruction to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. Week 5 will be the test. The American Kennel Club offers a certification open to all dogs (pure and mixed breed) to recognize the efforts of dog owners who have made a commitment to training. The Canine Good Citizen certificate is granted to those dogs who can perform all 10 of the items on the CGC test. All dogs that pass the CGC test can receive a certificate from the AKC. This class is also ideal for anyone with the goal of doing therapy work with their dog. You’ll learn what is required of a therapy team and become familiar with the certification process.

Community Canine – Advanced Canine Good Citizen $160
Price includes 5 dog training classes and week 5 will be the test. This class is only open to dogs that have already completed the Canine Good Citizen Test.
Length: 5 weeks Location: Arundel, ME
Please note that this class is ONLY open to dogs that have already completed the CGC test. If your dog has not taken the Canine Good Citizen Test please contact us for more information.
This class will include 4 weeks of preparation and practice for the Advanced Canine Good Citizen Class (Community Canine) and the last class will be the test. We will meet each week for 1 hour at The Capable Canine and include 1 field trip session. This test is a great benchmark for people who would like to do therapy work with their dogs.
